After Cosmic Ocean — a collaboration with Toronto’s Eytan Tobin and Beat Sampras — Lawless Inc. artist Atari Jones has once again lent his voice to the Bedroomer collective. This time, he appears on a two-track digital 12” produced and overseen by Hudson Alexander. These tracks, inspired by a weekend Jones spent in ‘The 6’ last summer, draw from the city’s new-found musical energy and explore the many facets of the “Toronto Sound.” Promi6, a sunny-day ode to the grind, which features guest vocals from the UK’s Chloe McShane, takes inspiration from the vibrant House and Dance scene that Alexander has found himself immersed in. The song also borrows from the classic Hip-Hop bravado that preceded Toronto’s current darker sound. The second track, Really Really, takes Atari’s energy into the evening, where he finds himself on Queen Street, discovering the city’s nightlife with a “doobie in the air.” Guest production and vocals by Lum inject Bedroomer’s signature care-free sound into the spacey, nocturnal beat. This is Hudson and Atari’s first collaboration, and Hudson’s first dip into rap production.
